From here we take all the traditional fundamentals that you learned in previous sections and we keep just enough in our recipe to use as a ground floor for letting your personal style shine through.
Then I will take you through important tactics for teaching you how to create and let your own styles of lettering flow. We will go through various shading techniques to create high contrast designs to help aid the legibility of the more wild style based designs.
With composition being arguably one of the most important pieces in the puzzle of creating a visually dominating design, we will go deep into the practice of composition and layout to help you fully understand the importance of creating dynamic lettering designs for any medium.
The next task covered in the course is to teach how to take these drawing fundamentals you’ve learned and to put them into action in a tattoo specific scenario. In these lessons, I will teach you my favorite tools that I use, along with specific needle and tube set ups, and which machines I prefer for each type of job. I will also teach with visuals of correct layouts for particular parts of the human body.
From there I will show you my best techniques for drawing tattoos directly onto the skin as well as a transfer method for taking the marker drawing onto a light table and making a cleaner version to use for a standard stencil.
From this point you can watch me complete a lettering tattoo from start to finish, up close to the needle point where I instruct through each and every step of my process covering linework, flourishes, shading, and double outlines, all the way through to the background shading and the completion of the tattoo.
Upon finishing my Dynamic Lettering course, you will have a full and comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of building one-off completely custom and stylish lettering designs and logos. You will also be able to take the knowledge learned and put out your best most dynamic lettering tattoos to date, and continue to grow from there.
